Remembering Michael in song, poetry, recipe and music
This Tuesday we held a community memorial for Michael Bridgwater- one of the founders of Take A Part and an integral member of the community of Efford.

In collaboration with High View School an event was created to both remember and celebrate Michael- with positivity and happy memories at the heart of events.

School headteacher Kim Dorian-Kemp, Take A Part director Kim Wide and community member and fellow founder of Take A Part Kath Hancock all shared their memories of Michael.  Michael’s son James read some poetry connected to Michael, High View choir sang some beautiful songs and to round it all off the Plymouth Ukulele Band performed some rousing songs.  Alongside the performances we had tea and cake provided by the local timebank.

We also had the Shed On Wheels on site as a ‘mini museum’ to Michael.  We shared some of Michael’s famous hats, alongside t-shirts he had worn and collected from Efford events and photographs of Michael too.

We were so pleased to see so many community members, artists and friends pulling together to attend the event and were so pleased to be able to recognise Michael and give him a final send off in such a positive way.  Thanks to all who contributed or attended.
