Plain Speaking Tours- it’s a wrap!
Our arts group Crazy Glue have had a busy autumn taking part in leading Plain Speaking Tours of recent exhibition We The People are The Work.

The group have been supported by artist Rachel Dobbs and have trained and discussed the 5 artworks that form the exhibition.  Spanning key visual arts organisations in the city We The People Are The Work is hosted by Peninsula Arts, Plymouth College of Art, Plymouth Arts Centre, The Council House and KARST gallery.  The tours have provided opportunity for many of Crazy Glue to visit these spaces for the first time as well as bringing new community audiences to the spaces as they attend the tours.

The focus for the tours was on exploring the artwork and themes of We The People and breaking that down to provide opportunity for more casual conversations around what people think of the work, what meaning they draw from it and how they felt about work created for people in the city.  Over the four tours the venues were broken down into pairs and threes to enable people to spend some quality time at each space.

The wonderful conversations and reactions that we have had, both from the group as leaders and from participants has been really exciting and insightful and we have really enjoyed collaborating with Horizon to enable this project to happen.
