Pupils from Riverside School were back with us at Saltram today and they embarked on the next stage of their Sculpting Saltram project. Our Heritage sign project is in full swing and children at High View School have been working alongside artist Thomas Goddard to research the history of the community. Members of the community and those that work within Efford have visited the school’s art ambassadors who are undertaking interviews and research to uncover histories and hidden stores from within the community. Our second Sculpting Saltram project began today as a group of pupils from Riverside School came to visit Saltram, some for the very first time. We spent a lovely creative afternoon with parents and children at Riverside School creating Christmas charms from found objects. The group worked with artist Graham Guy-Robinson to create sculptural charms using recycled materials and more natural objects like stones and shells.  The project was a follow on from our metal charm workshops and formed another part of our Kinterbury Creek Bridge project but with a Christmas slant. Crazy Glue were back at Saltram this weekend to work on the designs for the interpretation to accompany their Holzhausen Sculpture. The group met with artist Joanna the team at Saltram and history experts to finalise the objects that would be used to interpret and represent the history connected to the site of the Holzhausen sculpture.  The group are working to produce a series of stamps which will sit inside the holes of the sculpture and will show objects, wording and date information...
